Sculptor — Harrisonburg, Virginia
Working from the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Zeke Trainum transforms raw materials into sculptural works that bridge the elemental and the intimate. His practice moves between stone, steel, and wood — each piece carrying the marks of the hand that shaped it and the land it came from.
With a sensibility that is equal parts irreverent and deeply considered, Zeke finds art in the overlooked — the rocks in your driveway, the grain of a salvaged beam, the curve a piece of steel takes under heat. His sculptures invite you to look again at what you thought you already knew.
Zeke is an active member of the Harrisonburg arts community, exhibiting through the Arts Council of the Valley's First Fridays program and showing at venues across the Shenandoah Valley. Together with his partner Jessie, the Trainum Family creates and sells wooden and mixed media art at local markets.
Grain, knot, and curve — each piece of timber carries a life already lived. Zeke works with the wood's own direction, letting the material lead.
Heated, hammered, and bent to new purpose. Steel sculptures emerge from the forge carrying the memory of fire — strong, dark, unyielding.
Pulled from fields and roadsides, found stone becomes something unexpected. Every chip of the chisel reveals what was always waiting inside.

Harrisonburg sits in the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley — a place where mountains meet farmland, and the maker tradition runs deep. Zeke's work draws from this landscape of stone walls, old barns, and working forges.
